Happy Friday, you guys! Upon returning from our Disney trip (stay tuned for part two next week!) and the impending holiday break, the creative juices aren’t flowing a whole lot. As I was sitting on the couch earlier this week watching DVRed episodes of The Real Housewives, I was reminded of the “old days” of blogging when we’d all write the night before or morning of — typos, gifs, and all — and call it good. Today, I’m giving a nod to old school blogging and simply sharing some things I’m loving lately.

ONE // Today begins Thanksgiving break!

As of 12 p.m. today, I’m off work for nine days! Time off is always exciting and as a teacher I’m usually yearning for this time in a way that words can’t describe. I know I certainly was last year. This year, since working in a new environment, I haven’t been barely surviving until the next break. I love my school and I love my kiddos!

But I sure do love time off with family too. 🙂

TWO // reputation by Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift’s new album, reputation, came out last week! Y’all may not know this about me, but I’m a total Swiftie. I love every incarnation of her — even this latest one. I pre-ordered this months ago and was so excited to wake up last Friday to the whole thing loaded on my phone! It’s been on repeat ever since and getting me through my workouts like you wouldn’t believe.

THREE // Crossfit Inspired Workouts

Speaking of workouts… Now that the Wine & Dine Half Marathon is over and done (see my recap here), my goals are a little up in the air. I’ve been asking myself, “Ok, what next.” I love total body workouts, but I haven’t found a program I want to follow sooooo…….. I’ve been dabbling in my version of “CrossFit”, meaning I look up CF workouts and adapt them to what I can do with the equipment I have available. It’s been a nice change and even got me curious enough to look up some CrossFit gyms in town.

And then I saw the price per month and laughed.

Three rounds for time: 50 Sit-Ups, 30 Kettlebell Swings, & 20 Dumbbell Snatches I got faster with every round!

FOUR // Wonder

Wonder opens in theaters today! I’m lucky enough that I got to see it yesterday. One of the theaters in town did a special showing for our classes and we all loved it. Read Wonder (or listen to it on Audible!) if you haven’t yet and then take your family to see it. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll learn. There’s a message for both kids and adults and I applaud RJ Palacio for sharing Auggie’s story with the world in the first place.

FIVE // Once Upon a Time

I’m a TV junkie and my DVR is a disaster right now. Hopefully Thanksgiving break gives me the opportunity to catch up. One show I have stayed up on this season is Once Upon a Time. I’ve loved it since it premiered years ago, but when I learned some of my favorites wouldn’t be back, I wondered if it would tank. I have to say, I’m loving the fresh cast and the new(ish) story line. Now, if only Grey’s Anatomy will keep me as equally interested. 😉 What television shows are you loving lately?
