An Updated Day in the Life {Fall 2017}

Over the summer, I did a series called Teacher Off Duty and had a lot of fun with it. One of my favorite posts from that series was Teacher Off Duty: A Day in the Life. Well, this teacher has been back on duty for about eight weeks and things are looking different these days, so I figured it was time for an update! I started at a new school in August and am currently training for a half marathon, so life is crazy busy. Buckle in!

4:15-4:30 a.m.: My alarm goes off and wakes me for the day. I drag myself out of bed and stumble into the bathroom to get dressed for my workout. My husband stays in bed for about another hour and does his best to ignore the tiny streams of light peeking through the doorway.

4:30-5:20 a.m.: I start the coffee and let Pippa out to potty and then she goes right back to sleep. Next, I put my shoes on to get ready for my workout. Lately, I’ve been doing traditional weight lifting (in the comfort of my own home!), so I transition between upper body and lower body depending on the day. I still like to add in about one day of total body and one day of yoga per week!

When I blogged in the past, I always loved writing “Currently…” posts and reading them from others. Imagine my delight when I discovered Anne hosts a monthly “Currently” link-up! I knew I had to participate in the very next one.

Documenting… My first week of half marathon training and noting how I feel, what’s working, and what isn’t. You can see my plan for the first five weeks here. I will continue to document each week leading up to the race. Since it’s my first Run Disney race, I just want to get the magic started as early as I can.🙃

My Favorite Podcasts

I have just recently jumped onto the podcast bandwagon. That’s probably because I’m getting older. I remember riding in the car with my grandparents as a kid and HATING IT because all they ever listened to was talk radio. As an angsty preteen, the last thing I wanted to hear was Rush Limbaugh for 90 minutes on a road trip with my grandparents. These days, I take the time to listen to a podcast while I’m getting ready in the morning, during my conference period, or even when I’m grocery shopping. Podcasts are the new talk radio.
