The outfit above is one of my favorites and is constantly on repeat. The pants are Adidas, the shoes are ASICS, and the top and bra are both Fabletics. It took me FOREVER to find a good bra from Fabletics, and now they don’t seem to be making that one anymore. Oh well, I still have all of these. These items are old (a year+ in some cases!), but I’ve linked some similar items if you’re interested.

Last week was my first week on summer break. Are you tired of me talking about having the summer off yet?! I let myself sleep in most days and be a little lazy, which felt amazing. This weekend, I’m switching back to my early (4:45 a.m.) wake-up calls so I can fit in my workout before my husband leaves for work.

Sunday, 6/4/17:

I had to work last Saturday morning and then my husband and I spent the afternoon cleaning out my classroom. That left me wanting a good stretch on Sunday! I did one of the PiYo Strength workouts (Full Body Blast). I have sung my praises for PiYo here and here before, but these workouts use sliders to kick the stretch up a notch. For such tiny pieces of equipment, the sliders kick my butt.

Monday, 6/5/17:

I kicked the week off with a quick upper body and abs circuit using the Jillian Michaels app and then went out for a run. Pippa and I go in about 3.25 miles and she loved it. Speaking of running with Pippa, did you see that we were featured on Running With Ollie a couple of weeks ago?!

Tuesday, 6/6/17:

Tuesday I was completely draggy. I was already starting to fall into the pattern of laying around and not knowing what day it was. This was one of those days when the best part of the workout was when it was finally over. I did Sunset Sweat, a total body workout from Beach Babe 5, and the new Tone It Up Ball Workout. Honestly… I hate stability ball workouts. Due to my lack of core strength, balance, and just my general awkwardness, they’re difficult for me. I felt like it was a waste, so I tacked on the BodyLove booty workout too.

Wednesday, 6/7/17:

Wednesday totally redeemed itself, being Global Running Day, and all. 🙂 I got in Absolutely Bootyful, a no-equipment booty and abs workout from Beach Babe 5, and 3 miles with Pippa. By the time we finished it was so hot, but as always, so worth it.

Thursday, 6/8/17:

Rest day. Total rest, not active rest. This is rare for me!

Friday, 6/9/17:

On Friday, I got in an upper body workout (the #TIUFlexFriday workout), and followed it up with a 3.25 mile run. It was one of those runs that even though it was the same route and same distance that I’d done 100 times, it just felt hard. I couldn’t wait for it to be over.

Saturday, 6/10/17:

I wrapped up my week of workouts with “The Bobby Call”, which is a hilarious HIIT featuring Karena’s husband, Bobby. I’m always trying to convince my husband to work out with me. He always says no, but if he ever said yes, I imagine it would go something like this. Kudos to Bobby for putting himself in the hot seat!

The rest of Saturday was spent like this. Lazing around and moving as little as possible.

Tomorrow begins the final week of the 2017 Tone It Up Bikini Series. I know I gush about TIU all the time (#TIUgirlproblems), but this is the first challenge that I’ve stuck with start to finish! I’m a little bit sad to see it go, but excited for what’s to come. I’ve already started researching what I want to do next. I begin half marathon training the first week of July, so I want to get something nailed down soon!

Teacher Off Duty: Casual Summer Fashion

Casual Summer Fashion

Dressing “like a teacher” has pretty much abolished any trendy style sense I might’ve had in another life. I rely almost solely on Stitch Fix to dress me August through May. You’d think this would make me more fashionable and adventurous, but… No. When school is not in session, I’m all about casual summer fashion! I’m a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, so my summer uniform fits that bill (when it’s not athleisure, of course!).

Follow I Am Teacher Fit on Twitter!

It is gosh darned HOT in Texas, so many days, my jeans and a t-shirt becomes shorts and a t-shirt, or even jeans and a tank top. I’m usually ready to “dress up” again by the time mid August rolls around, but I love the months of June and July for allowing me to make comfort king!

I usually throw on a pair of strappy sandals or classic sneakers and then finish the look with a small cross body bag, especially if I’m traveling. There’s nothing more annoying than lugging around a giant purse all summer! My philosophy is the lighter the better when the high is slated at 100 for the day. In fact, that’s exactly what the high is today, so you can bet this is exactly what I’m wearing with a messy bun piled high on the top of my head. 😉

Brooks Juno Review (The New Style!)

I need to be honest for a quick second. I’ve been trying to write this post for weeks — WEEKS! — and just haven’t taken the time to do it. Let’s all thank the Spring Break for giving me some time to actually breathe for a few days. #teacherproblems

A few weeks ago, I talked about some of the best sports bras for chesty ladies. While I was writing that post, I discovered that one of my favorite bras, the Moving Comfort Juno, had been updated by Brooks. Was Moving Comfort purchased by Brooks? It appears that way. Anyway, I was due for a new bra, so I decided to order the Brooks version and compare it to my trusty Moving Comfort.

Brooks Juno Review

Overall, I maintain that the Juno is still one of the best sports bras for a large bust. While some of the reviews on the Brooks website are lackluster, I find the changes to be subtle. The most noticeable (at least when you’re wearing it) difference between the Brooks Juno and the Moving Comfort Juno is that the Brooks is less modest in the cleavage area. The previous style had a slight v-neck and the Brooks style is crew neck and doesn’t lay as flat on my chest. Modesty, or lack thereof, can be a deal breaker for some women — in fact, it usually is for me. However, this honestly doesn’t bother me at all! I don’t notice it while I’m running. In my opinion, the best sports bra is the one you’re not thinking about during activity. With a snug band, adjustable straps, hook-and-eye closure in the back, and breathable support during long runs, the Brooks Juno makes a great addition to your collection! If you’d like to check it out, click here!

Brooks Juno Review

Very supportive
Great for any activity
Adjustable straps
Breathable/doesn’t cause me to chafe
Fun colors
Many size offerings

A bit pricey ($65.00)
Less modest than the previous version
Some may find it difficult to get on/off

This bra may even be good luck. I wore it for a 5K earlier this month and was a top finisher! 😉

Best Running Gear & Gadgets

I love talking about and reading about running, working out, and nutrition. I could do it all day (sometimes I do). From running tips to new workouts, and people’s favorite gear — I can’t get enough of it! So today, I thought I’d share some of the best running gear and gadgets I’ve found. None of these things are groundbreaking, or even new, but I love them all and use them regularly!

Best Running Gear & Gadgets

FlipBelt // I use this every time I go out for a run! When I had a gym membership, I used it every single day. I had read about FlipBelt for a couple of years and tried some knock-offs, but they didn’t last. When I saw FlipBelt at a race expo, I finally got one for myself. It holds my house key, my phone, my inhaler, and anything else I need to stuff into it during a run!

Fitbit Charge 2 // I know there are probably many activity trackers on the market that are a lot better, but I’m happy with my Fitbit! I used to use a chest strap heart rate monitor, but the watch didn’t have GPS and I wanted an all-in-one tracker! I love the social aspect of Fitbit and seeing my steps throughout the day helps me stay motivated! Those of you who have used a Fitbit and then switched to a different watch, what changed your mind?

Thorlo Experia Socks // Until I started working out regularly, I never gave a second thought to the kind of socks I wore. When I started training for my first half marathon, I experienced an array of issues from black toenail to chafing under my bra strap. My mom found these socks for us and they are fantastic! They have extra cushioning on the heel, ball of the foot, and at the toe. They’re also a little tighter than a lot of socks around the arch. I love this feature because I have very high arches.

Brooks Juno Sports Bra // I’ve talked about this bra before, but it deserves another mention! I have the old style Juno by Moving Comfort, as well as the new style by Brooks. The biggest difference between the two is the coverage in the back, but I don’t prefer one style over another. If I had all the money in the world, my sports bra collection would be ONLY Junos. 🙂 I love that Brooks is putting these out in colors other than just black or white. “Pretty” bras can be so hard to find in bigger sizes!

Asics GEL-Exalt 2 // Right now, I’m wearing these shoes by Asics. I’ve been a fan of Asics from way back in my cheerleading days, but just started wearing them for running within the last couple of years. I will have to replace my current pair soon, but they’ve but they’ve been great! Again, I love the bright colors. My day-to-day wardrobe consists of a lot of neutrals, so when it comes to my fitness gear, I love to brighten things up!

Ok, your turn! Tell me all your favorite gear — shoes, bras, tech gadgets — I want to hear it all. Today, I’m linking up with Nicole, Annemarie, and Jen for Wild Workout Wednesday!

Best Sports Bras for Big Busts

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. Purchasing through them helps support this website.

The best sports bras for big busts, boobs, girls, boobies, tatas, whatever! What an awkward (yet completely necessary) topic to address. The right bra can make all the difference when it comes to a good workout, so today I’m discussing some of my favorites. I’ve got three options for you, so hopefully one will work for you! They’re all described as “high impact” bras, and you ladies with big’uns know that even yoga is high impact when you’re anything larger than a C cup. The last thing you want is to pop out of your bra when you’re in down dog for all the world to see!

Best Sports Bras for Big Busts

What makes me an authority on this topic? Well… I had to start wearing a bra in second grade. Yes, second grade. They were big then and they’re big now. I went through that awkward turtle stage very early and have spent, quite literally, most of my life, looking for the right bras. Good bras, regardless of their intended activity, are few and far between! I can never seem to get measured correctly, and if I find a bra I do like, I just wear it for years until the wire starts to gouge holes in my ribs or it’s completely threadbare! Anyone else? No? Just me? :p

I have two big tips for finding the right sports bra for busty ladies. 1. Find one that is sized like a regular bra. 2. I typically go down a cup size from my everyday bra. For example, I wear a 36DD, but a sports bra in that size would be far too big on me, so I buy 36D. This is true particularly at Victoria’s Secret!

Victoria’s Secret Incredible

I tried this bra out a few years ago and I was NOT a fan. At the time, it wasn’t available with adjustable straps and that’s something I desperately need. I promptly returned it for the other VS bra you see featured here. I was in Victoria’s Secret a few months ago and noticed the sports bras were half off so I decided to give this one another try. It’s now made with adjustable straps. YAY! Once I worked out in it, I was sold. It’s supportive, stays in place, and comfortable. I’ll be buying another soon.

Brooks Moving Comfort Juno

I’ve heard complaints about getting this bra on and off. Maybe I’m double jointed and extra bendy in the shoulders, but I don’t have an issue with it. I’ve had three of these and all have been great. I even ran a half marathon in my Juno! It still rubbed and I still had to bathe in Bodyglide, but that’s just long distance running. It’s certainly more modest (which I greatly appreciate) than anything you’ll find at VS, but it serves its purpose beautifully. This bra differs from its Victoria’s Secret counterparts in that I find it to fit true-to-size. I wear a 36DD, just like my everyday bra. I also find that it holds up a little longer than Victoria’s Secret bras.

Notice: I’ve learned that this bra has been updated! It looks like this now. I’ve just ordered one in the new style to test it out. I’ll let y’all know once I’ve given it a fair shot. There are still a few of the old style available in other locations on the web though!

Victoria’s Secret Knockout Front Close

Our final installment today is another Victoria’s Secret favorite. This bra features a front close panel that hides traditional click-in-place front close cups. With 4.1/5 stars on the VS website, it’s easy to see many, many people adore this bra! I like it as well — I’ve had two! — but it’s my least favorite of the three featured today. I don’t find it to be as supportive as the Incredible, nor as modest as the Juno, but it still does that job. I wouldn’t run miles upon miles in this bra, but I wear it all the time for HIIT workouts, plyometrics, and strength training.

An honorable mention includes the Fabletics Sylvia! I’ll probably be ordering another one of these, but Fabletics isn’t my favorite for sports bras because they’re sized S-M-L. I never have good luck with that sizing because if it fits in the bust, it’s too big in the band, or if it fits in the band, it’s too small in the bust. This is the only one I’ve found from Fabletics that’s worth talking about. However, I do love pretty much every other activewear item they offer!
