An Updated Day in the Life {Fall 2017}

Over the summer, I did a series called Teacher Off Duty and had a lot of fun with it. One of my favorite posts from that series was Teacher Off Duty: A Day in the Life. Well, this teacher has been back on duty for about eight weeks and things are looking different these days, so I figured it was time for an update! I started at a new school in August and am currently training for a half marathon, so life is crazy busy. Buckle in!

4:15-4:30 a.m.: My alarm goes off and wakes me for the day. I drag myself out of bed and stumble into the bathroom to get dressed for my workout. My husband stays in bed for about another hour and does his best to ignore the tiny streams of light peeking through the doorway.

4:30-5:20 a.m.: I start the coffee and let Pippa out to potty and then she goes right back to sleep. Next, I put my shoes on to get ready for my workout. Lately, I’ve been doing traditional weight lifting (in the comfort of my own home!), so I transition between upper body and lower body depending on the day. I still like to add in about one day of total body and one day of yoga per week!

August. What can I say about the crazy, hectic month of August? Truthfully, I’m just glad I came out the other side relatively unscathed. 😉 Also, now that it’s practically fall, get ready for me to be all about pumpkin spice everything. Just a little side note.

Podcasts to Listen to: More of My Favorite Podcasts
A few months ago, I started really getting into podcasts. For some reason, I always thought of them like the politics and stock-filled talk radio my grandparents used to listen to in the car and that’s just not my style. I didn’t realize that podcasts were a bit like blogs and that there are tons of different genres.

A few months ago, I curated a list of my favorite podcasts that pull from those different genres. In the last few weeks, I’ve added some new listens to that list. Check them out and tell me your favorite podcasts to listen to!

Must Read Books This Fall: What's on Your List?
Earlier this year, I shared my summer reading list and my lofty ambitions to get them all read before heading back to school for the fall. Well, I’m ashamed to say that didn’t happen. Sadly, I don’t think I’m going to meet my reading goal this year. Still… A new season brings a fresh start and new goals. I’ve added some new books to my must-read list, and reserved some from the summer that I know I still want to read!
