Wine & Dine Half Marathon Goals

It’s the week of goals here on the blog! Today, I’m sharing my goals for race day (six days away!), and a week from today, I’m sharing my overarching goals for the month of November. I’m already wondering what the heck I’m going to blog about after next Sunday. 😉 Just kidding–I have a few things planned, though I’ll miss all the 13.1 talk for a while, I’m sure.

As the day gets closer and closer, I’ve begun thinking about my goals for race day and what I’m hoping to get out of it. This is a Disney race, so it’s meant to be FUN. But it’s my first Disney race and only my second half marathon, so I definitely have some ideas of how I hope it will go.

IT.IS.RACE.WEEK. After all this time it’s hard to believe that it’s finally here. We fly out Thursday morning. Between fitting in runs and workouts, cleaning the house, and trying to prep for my substitute at school, the last couple of weeks have been a blur! BUT–I’m done with two-a-day workouts (for a while at least) and this coming week is going to include some yoga, a few runs, and a lot of Disney magic!

What to Pack for a RunDisney Racecation Weekend

One of the best parts about running is that there are so many different places to go! A destination race will surely get me up off the couch and training because it’s a lot more fun to run somewhere new than the same ole route I do each week. Because a destination race requires a few days of time, before you know it, it’s become a full blown racecation.

What is a racecation? It’s a trip that’s part destination race, part vacation. To me, a RunDisney race weekend has been the ultimate in racecations. In just over a week I’ll be embarking on mine and I’ve been thinking about what to pack for months. I ordered my first Disney themed shirt just days after signing up for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon and I can hardly believe the day is almost here! I’m so excited, I might start packing tonight.

This week was another rough one! I had Columbus Day off and was excited about that, but ended up spending most of the week sick with a cold. By Thursday, things were starting to look up, and being three weeks away from my race, I’m so glad!
